Let’s Go Girls: It’s time to take back our power

In today's world, women are reclaiming their power and agency by embarking on a profound journey of emboldening their voices and taking back their power from people, systems, and institutions that have no business carrying them. For far too long, societal norms and oppressive structures have hindered women from fully realizing their potential and true selves. But now, a transformative shift is occurring.

Women are courageously unraveling the threads of toxic narratives that have bound them — like the patriarchy, diet culture, toxic religious expectations, to name a few — and are embracing self-reflection and committing to real personal growth. Through self-compassion, therapy, and connecting with supportive communities, they are peeling off the layers of self-doubt, guilt, and shame. Each step brings them closer to liberation and wholeness.

As they shed the weight of toxic patterns and oppressive systems, women embrace their authentic voices, make empowered choices, and create spaces where their dreams can flourish. With bravery and resilience, these women are healing not only themselves but also transforming society's understanding of empowerment, showing that agency and true healing are within their grasp.

Journal Prompts to Support Your Reclamation

One. Write about what “taking back your power” means to you. What does it look like in action? What does a person who is “in their power” do, say, and think?

Dig Deeper: Write about someone you know who seems to be “in their power.” Describe what you notice about their personality, demeanor, and decision-making.

Two. We give away our power by letting others’ perceptions of us keep us caged. How are you trying to control the perception of others and what impact does this have on your confidence, authenticity, and boldness?

Dig Deeper: Write about a memory from your childhood where you felt like you needed to make yourself smaller, quieter, or morph into a “more appealing” person.

Three: In what areas of your life do you avoid conflict with the hope of “keeping the peace?

Dig Deeper: Write about the root of that behavior: what do you fear will happen if you get into conflict?

Four: What do you need to be unapologetically unwavering about if you are going to live a bold and authentic life?

Dig Deeper: With as much honesty and self-compassion as possible, write about the people, systems, or mindsets that have kept you from creating the life you desire.
