Ten Journal Prompts For Magnifying Gifts and Purpose

It’s the question of a lifetime: What is my purpose?

I’m not sure if there is one single purpose for each of our lives. More likely, it is revealed and evolves over time as we go through experiences and learn lessons and reflect on what we know to be true about ourselves. That last part is what I am inviting you to do today: intentionally examine what you know to be true about yourself and consider what that might reveal about how to use all of your humanness to bring light and love into the world. The answer to our path is already within us; we must take the time to allow it to be illuminated.

Ten Journal Prompts For Magnifying Gifts and Purpose

ONE. Write about what excites you: new books, spontaneous adventures, no plans on a weekend, a concert, a new project, etc. What does this teach you about yourself?

TWO. Write about what inspires you: stories of overcoming challenges, vulnerability, small-town loyalty, service projects, etc. What does this illuminate within you?

THREE. Write about what guts you: hurting children, abandoned animals, struggling veterans, lonely moms, etc. What feelings does this bring about in you?

FOUR. Write about what forms of communication move you: music, poetry, video, dancing, etc. Why does this touch you?

FIVE. Write about what scares you: loss, abandonment, betrayal, etc. What does this reveal about your values?

SIX. Write about what consumes you (in a good way): writing, creating, building, connecting, etc. What about these activities lights you up?

SEVEN. Write about what empowers you: moving your body, speaking your truth, getting made up, therapy, etc. What does this stir within you?

EIGHT: Write about what connects you (to yourself and others): nature, laughter, vulnerability, activism, etc. What does this tell you about who and what adds meaning to your life?

NINE. Write about what IS you: your gifts, skills, learned lessons, perspective, your story.

TEN. Reflect on the themes, patterns, or intersections you notice after working through these prompts. Write about anything that comes to mind regarding what you’ve learned about yourself, your gifts, your passions, your authenticity, and your purpose.

If you enjoy these kinds of prompts, you’ll love the journals in the Thirty Days Journals Shop. Our journals are designed to help you gain self-awareness, spark creativity, and connect more deeply with yourself and those around you. They are the perfect gift to yourself and for someone you love.
